Surf the Waves

Get into the water with our help

The ocean is a wild, unpredictable place.

Surfing is a sport that combines the thrill of being on the water with the thrill of being in the air. If you're looking for adventure, look no further, and start your surf's adventure thanks to our schools and instructors.

There's something magical about surfing—it feels almost like flying when you're out there on top of the water with no one else around but yourself.

When you're out on the water, you feel like you're in another world. You can see for miles and miles around as the sun shines down on you and the wind blows through your hair.

You feel like there's nothing else in this whole big world but you and your board, and that makes all of your troubles disappear.

What You Need to Get Started

Surfboard

First, you need a surfboard. You can shop around and find one that suits your style and price range best, but if you're just getting started, we recommend looking for something that's sturdy and easy to use. Those are the two most important things when choosing a board.

Wetsuit

The next thing you need is some kind of wetsuit—preferably one that's designed with surfing in mind. You can also buy a rash guard or other type of swimsuit with built-in protection against the cold water. If you want to save money by getting one of those instead, make sure it's made from durable material and fits well.

Paraffin

Paraffin is recommended for preventing chafing. Chafing can happen when your skin rubs against your wetsuit or board, so you'll want to make sure you're prepared for it by using paraffin.

Sunscreen

The higher the SPF number, the more protection you'll have from the sun's harmful rays. If you're going to be out there for an extended period of time, we recommend that you look for a sunscreen with an SPF rating of 15 or higher.

Our Tips for New Surfers

Be patient

Surfing is a sport that takes time to master. Don't be discouraged if you don't catch waves right away, or if you don't catch many waves at all.

Protect yourself

Before you go surfing, make sure to wear sunscreen and cover up with a rash guard or wetsuit if it's cold out. Remember you can get hurt surfing, so be careful! Keep an eye on your surroundings and watch out for other surfers (and yourself).

Don't waste money

If you're new to surfing, try renting a board first before buying one of your own—there's no point in spending money on something that might not work for you.

Never underestimate the ocean

Remember that the ocean is unpredictable: there are currents, tides, and waves that could sweep you away if you're not paying attention! If anything feels unsafe or uncomfortable, listen to that feeling. Trust yourself. Also check the weather before heading out on the waves.

Never go alone into the water

There are too many things that can go wrong when it comes to surfing! It's safer if you have someone with you who knows what they're doing and can keep an eye on things from shore in case anything goes wrong.
